Your heart hero is incredible, and your bravery and dedication to your child with congenital heart disease (CHD) is my inspiration. After many years of listening to your stories and concerns, I’ve come to understand that there isn’t enough support for parents of children with CHD, and that too few providers truly understand CHD.
Since 2012, I have worked with children and teens with CHD and their families, and I've participated in multi-center neurodevelopmental outcome research. It’s time to try something new - to increase your access to more practical information and resources. This is why I created an online program just for you, called Parenting Kids with CHD.
We already know that neurodevelopmental differences and emotional challenges are common in children with CHD. Importantly, we also know that children with CHD and their families have incredible resilience and courage. I want to guide parents in using those strengths to support their child’s neurodevelopmental growth and wellbeing. I'll be sharing the latest research and parent-focused strategies with on-demand video toolkits, so you have opportunities to:
- Build knowledge so you can advocate for your child
- Build skills to support your child
- Join a community where we can learn and grow together
